Super Mario Bros 3 figure by vrlovecats Super Mario Bros 3 figure by vrlovecats
It's me. MariooO!!!

This was also a commission, it was weird making Mario out of cold porcelain since I have several Mario figures, dressed in white, red, etc. But I tried to make a Mario based on the game.
It was fun, please comment if you feel like it :)

Mixed into the clay or painted on top? Because the paint job seems really clean!

the main colors were mixed into the clay but the eyes and little details were painted on top.

Ah! Okay! And this is the last question about the process, do you paint underneath the waterproof sealant, or on top of it? Also thanks very much for answering these! I'm trying to learn more about cold porcelain.

yes, I paint underneath the sealant. No problem, you have some nice artwork in your gallery :)

Thanks so much for the advice! I'm itching to try cold porcelain out myself sometime. And I like your work too, I think the effects look lovely, so that's why I was curious about how you got it looking that way :D thanks so much again for your help!
